Shahada is the first pillar or tenet of Islam. For a Muslim, the guiding principle is the declaration of faith, and this is embodied in the recitation of Shahada. By sincerely stating the shahada aloud before two witnesses, one is considered to have converted to Islam.
La ilaha illallah muhammadur rasool allah
“There is no god but Allah S.W.T, and I bear witness that Muhammad S.A.W is the messenger of Allah.”
Note:
S.W.T – “May He be praised and exalted”
S.A.W – Blessings of Allah S.W.T be upon him as well as peace.
